Winter 2023 Outlook
What is the outlook for the current winter?
As the following maps from the Climate Prediction Center of the National Weather Service show, most of this year’s wintry weather seems to be limited to the Rocky Mountains, northern Plains states, Midwest regions and interior New York (which has, of course, already seen massive amounts of snow).

The southern states, along with the east coast from Florida up to New England all look to be in for warmer than normal weather, with much of the south also seeing less than normal precipitation. The metropolitan areas from Boston to Washington DC appear to have another winter of limited snowfall. The Pacific Northwest, however, could see more snow than usual.
